This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of as a member of the Consortium for Academic Continuing Medical Education, is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. If you cannot register online and complete the activity, you may also receive credit by mailing your completed Registration form, Post Test and Evaluation Forms to: Goal The goal of this activity is to describe the shared pathophysiologic mechanisms of headache, mood disorders, and other neurologic disorders and define how treatment with anitepileptic drugs fits this paradigm. On completion of this continuing medical education offering, participants will be able to: Discuss the similarities in the pathophysiology of headache, certain pain syndromes, mood disorders, and epilepsy. 1. Define the role of certain antiepileptic drugs in treating headache, facial pain, and mood disorders. 2. Review the evidence supporting the use of AEDs in the management of migraine, cluster headache, and mood disorders. 3. Continuing education credit will be awarded to US physicians who successfully complete this activity as described in the section Instructions for Credit. For all other medical professionals who successfully complete this activity, Jefferson Medical Center will issue a Certificate of Participation. Certificate is defined as a record of participation. For information on applicability and acceptance of continuing education credit for this activity, please consult your professional licensing boards. Participation in this self-study activity should be completed in approximately one (1.0) hour. There are no fees for participating and receiving CME credit for this activity.
